Howdy, My name is James... Stephen James.

I'm not great at talking about myself, but I love talking with people.

I've worn a lot of hats over the years—father, comedian, producer, former law enforcement professional, storyteller, and survivor. Every chapter of my life has taught me something about people, and that's what has always fascinated me the most.

Stand-up comedy gave me a microphone, but life gave me the stories.

I've experienced loss, trauma, failure, and moments that changed my life forever. I've also experienced laughter, kindness, and the incredible resilience of ordinary people. Those experiences shaped the way I see the world and remind me that everyone is carrying something, even if you can't see it.

Whether I'm on stage, behind a microphone, writing, or simply having a conversation, my goal is always the same: to make people laugh, think, and maybe feel a little less alone.

I don't pretend to have all the answers. I just believe we've forgotten how to truly listen to one another. If sharing my experiences helps someone else find hope, courage, or even a reason to smile, then every difficult chapter was worth it.
